Before, this kitchen had oak cabinets with recently upgraded granite countertops and tile backsplash, so we refaced the cabinets only. It was a good situation for reface versus remodel when the kitchen already had beautiful countertops, but the cabinets were outdated. A full-depth cabinet was added above the refrigerator for additional storage. A built-in custom pantry with large drawers on the bottom went into the existing closet to make pantry items more accessible.
